ROVOS AIR CHARTER

Take a trip in a Luxurious Classic Aircraft

The aircraft will be used to convey our train passengers from Polokwane to Victoria Falls in Zambia on our scheduled Pretoria to Victoria Falls journeys, our Southern Africa Air Safaris and will also be available for charter anywhere in Southern Africa. There are many combinations which might be considered when constructing a charter itinerary, and these permutations are made all the more exciting when adding the spice of a nostalgic aircraft to the flexible train destination. Back to back train and plane possibilities abound with the most obvious itinerary including a game experience in the Kruger Park or Hluhluwe area. Cape Town are also great destinations to consider when the charter group can be split to facilitate the use of both air legs. Join us one of the most luxurious classic aircraft in the world for a weekend of tranquillity and relaxation. These programmes are workable examples of excursions that might be worked around the aircraft and exciting southern African destinations.

A BUSH SAFARI
Join us on one of the most luxurious classic aircraft in the world for a weekend of wildlife, tranquillity and relaxation.

Fly over the spectacular escarpment where the Highveld grasslands plunge 1 000 metres down to the Central Lowveld and one of the most prestigious wildlife destinations in South Africa: Kapama Private Game Reserve. Thirteen thousand hectares of undisturbed bushveld forms the backdrop to the game reserve, where a myriad of animal, plant and birdlife species reveal the essence of Africa. Here visitors can experience the relaxed tranquillity of the bush, while enjoying outstanding luxury accommodation and excellent service. Rovos Air operates a Douglas DC 4 seating 50 in business class comfort. The company also has two splendid 1954 Convair 440 aeroplanes rebuilt in South Africa incorporating the most modern avionics and catering equipment available. Designed as a 44 seater they have been reconfigured to accommodate 38 passengers in business class buttoned leather comfort for this journey. Experience first class bar service including a selection of South Africa’s finest vintage wines accompanied by a choice of tasty hors d’oeuvres. In 2002 Rovos Air acquired a 1944 DC 3 Dakota called ‘Delaney’ after a child who was born on board in 1975. Fitted with 20 business class leather seats and totally refurbished this aircraft has proved to be a worthy addition to the fleet (thus with the DC 4, a Convair and the DC 3 we could accommodate 108 passengers).
