Southern African Air Safari
Guests meet at 12h00 at Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria, for introduction. A light lunch is served on the station platform after which guests are transferred to Wonderboom Airport.
13h30 Board aircraft for flight to Mkuse airstrip. 15h30 Transfer to Forest or Mountain Lodge Phinda Private Game Reserve. 16h00 Game drive followed by dinner and overnight.
06h00 Early morning game drive followed by breakfast and lunch.
16h00 Afternoon game drive followed by dinner at 20h00.
After breakfast, 09h00 transfer to airport for flight to Plettenberg Bay. Arrive in Plettenberg Bay at 12h00 and transfer to Hunters Country House. Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Hunters.
09h00 Scenic drive and tour of Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River. Return to Hunters after lunch to freshen up for a sundowner cruise on Knysna Lagoon. Dinner on the boat. Overnight at Hunters.
Depart Plettenberg Bay airport for 09h00 flight to Cape Town. Arrive Cape Town and transfer to Cape Grace Hotel at the
V&A Waterfront. Tour of city and Table Mountain cableway (weather permitting). Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After breakfast depart at 09h00 for a guided tour of Cape Peninsula/Winelands/Robben Island with lunch en route.
07h30 Dinner and overnight at Cape Grace.
After breakfast, 08h00 transfer to the airport for flight to Lüderitz in Namibia.
11h00 Arrive Lüderitz. After a tour and lunch take a short drive to visit the mining ghost town of Kolmanskop.
Depart Lüderitz at 15h00 for short scenic flight to Sossusvlei. Transfer to Wolwedans Dunes Lodge for overnight.
After breakfast, depart at 08h00 for scenic drive in desert or nature walk. Hot-air ballooning is available (extra cost).
16h00 Enjoy sundowners in the desert followed by dinner. Overnight at lodge.
After breakfast, 08h00 flight to Windhoek to clear immigration before proceeding to Maun in Botswana.
12h00 Arrive Maun and transfer to a light aircraft for short flight to camp(s) in Okavango Delta (Khwai/Eagle Island).
After lunch there is time for a siesta before the late-afternoon wilderness experience. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Enjoy a day at the camp where guest activities include a guided walk, game drive or mokoro canoe trip. Overnight at camp.
After guest activities and brunch board the light aircraft at 10h30 and transfer to Maun Airport. Rejoin the Rovos aircraft at 11h30 for flight to Livingstone, Zambia. Arrive 13h00 and transfer to the Royal Livingstone Hotel at the Victoria Falls.
16h00 Sundowner cruise on Zambezi River. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day at leisure. An activities desk is provided in the foyer of the hotel. Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, 08h00 transfer to Livingstone Airport for flight to Lanseria Airport in northern Johannesburg, South Africa.
Pre-air Tour (optional)
Arrive in Cape Town by own arrangement. Dinner and overnight at the Lanzerac Manor and Winery.
At 09h00, depart for guided tour of Cape Winelands. Dinner and overnight at Lanzerac.
Depart hotel for Cape Town Station at 09h30. At 11h00, Rovos Rail’s Pride of Africa departs for Pretoria.
18h00 Visit to the historic Victorian village of Matjiesfontein.
Arrive in Kimberley at 14h30 for tour of the Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum.
At 12h00, the train arrives at Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria.
