Golf Safari
Rovos Rail has designed a delightful nine-day Golf Safari to entertain the most discerning player with optional excursions for non-playing guests at all venues. Relax as the train travels northwest towards Sun City in the hills of Pilanesberg for a day at this renowned facility. In the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains, 18 holes await at the Champagne Sports Resort with a guided tour of the battlefields a further highlight for our non-golfers. Next the golfers play at the Durban Country Club while non-playing guests enjoy a city tour followed by lunch at the club. Then on to Zululand for game viewing in the Hluhluwe Reserve before the train heads towards Swaziland. Tee off at the Royal Swazi Golf Club or enjoy a morning game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve followed by a visit to Ngwenya Glass with lunch at Guava Galleries. The train then travels west towards Nelspruit where golfers play the challenging Leopard Creek course or enjoy a game drive in the world-famous Kruger Park followed by lunch at Buhala Lodge. Depart for Pretoria where this memorable journey ends.

Golf Safari – Pretoria to Sun City
Depart Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria at 10h00. Lunch is served in the dining car/s as the train travels the hills of the Pilanesberg to Koster. (Breakfast 07h00-10h00 • Lunch 13h00 • High Tea 16h00 • Dinner 19h30)
Disembark for game drive at 09h00 in the Pilanesberg Reserve then transfer to the Lost City followed by lunch at the club. Golfers tee off at Lost City or Gary Player Country Club at 09h00.
After an overnight stop in Heidelberg the train travels to Estcourt via the historic Ladysmith to Estcourt.
Enjoy a day at leisure on the train.
Enjoy a professional tour of the battlefields with lunch at Spionkop Lodge followed by shopping.
Golfers tee off at Champagne Sports Resort at 09h00.
Disembark at 09h00 for a city tour of Durban followed by lunch with the golfers at the Durban Country Club.
Golfers tee off at 07h20.
All guests enjoy an early morning game drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Zululand.
Depart at 11h00 and enjoy brunch on the train as it heads towards Durban to overnight.
After breakfast enjoy a game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve and a visit to the Ngwenya Glass Factory followed by lunch at Guava Galleries. Golfers tee off at Royal Swazi Golf Club at 09h00.
Disembark for a 08h00 game drive in the Kruger Park followed by lunch at Buhala Lodge.
Golfers play at 08h00 at Leopard Creek Golf Estate on the Crocodile River.
Enjoy breakfast as the train departs for Pretoria. Arrive at journey’s end at Rovos Rail Station at 10h00.

African Golf Collage
This panoramic nine-day sojourn commences at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria and winds its way to journey’s end in Cape Town and includes a golfing and non-golfing itinerary. Golf courses include Leopard Creek next to the Kruger Park, Durban Country Club, the challenging Humewood Course in Port Elizabeth, the well-known Fancourt Golf Estate and Ernie Els’s first signature course in South Africa, the Oubaai Links Course, in George. Excursions include game drives in the world-famous Kruger Park, Hhluhluwe-Umfolozi – the oldest reserve in Africa – and in the ecologically diverse Addo Elephant Park. Also included is a visit to the renowned Ardmore Ceramics Gallery, a city tour of Bloemfontein, an ostrich-farm visit in Oudtshoorn, dinner at Fancourt Golf Estate and a morning in the natural paradise of Knysna and its surrounding attractions before traversing the Garden Route.
