Day 1 Wed 30 Jan
  Arrive Cape Town own arrangements and transfer to Cape Grace Hotel on V& A Waterfront for welcome dinner and overnight.

Depart for full day tour of Cape Winelands, including a visit to a famous wine estate with lunch en route. Afternoon visits to Franschhoek, Boschendal and Stellenbosch. Dinner and overnight at Cape Grace Hotel.
Day 3 Fri 01 Feb
08h30 Depart for full day tour of Cape Peninsula (including Groot Constantia, Fish Hoek, Simonstown, Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay and Kirstenbosch). Light lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Sat 02 Feb
09h00 Transfer to Rovos Rail’s private lounge at Cape Town station.
11h00 Depart Cape Town Station on the Rovos Rail Edwardian Train Safari.
18h00 Arrive Matjiesfontein with time to explore this Victorian village.
Day 5 Sun 03 Feb
14h30 Arrive Kimberley. Visit to the Big Hole & Diamond Museum with historic tram ride.
17h20 Depart Kimberley. Dinner and overnight on the train.

Arrive Pretoria. Light lunch followed by a city tour of Pretoria.

11h00 Arrive Hoedspruit for full board two night stay at 5-star Thornybush or Kapama Game Lodge.
Lunch and afternoon game drive.
Day 8 Wed 06 Feb
  After breakfast, guest activities. Morning and afternoon game drives. Optional visit to Wild Dog and Cheetah project at own cost. Overnight at lodge.

  Travel through Zimbabwe. Lectures provided by on-board historian during morning and afternoon.

15h00 Arrive Victoria Falls. Transfer from station to the Victoria Falls Hotel.
16h00 Sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. African Spectacular Show. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 12 Sun 10 Feb
  Day at leisure: Optional helicopter rides, river rafting, bungee jumping, craft village, guided tours of Falls.

17h30 Arrive Livingstone, Zambia for border formalities.

13h30 Pass through Lusaka. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board with morning and afternoon lectures.

08h00 Arrive Kanona. Brunch outing at Kundalila Falls.
13h00 Depart Kanona. Dinner on board. Pass through Mpika and Kasama overnight.

14h00 Arrive Nakonde/Tunduma for Zambian/Tanzanian border control. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. Morning and afternoon lectures.
Day 16 Thu 14 Feb
10h00 Arrive Makambako. Descend spectacular pass to Mlimba. Morning lectures.
Day 17 Fri 15 Feb
10h00 Arrive Tazara Station, Dar es Salaam. Board local flight for 20 minute trip to Zanzibar.
11h00 Transfer to Zanzibar Serena Hotel for lunch, dinner and overnight.
15h00 Afternoon tour of Stone Town.

09h00 Island Spice Tour with lunch en route.
Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

08h00 Transfer to airport for one-and-a-half hour flight to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Board vehicles for two-and-a-half hour drive via Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Farmhouse. Afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere on the coffee farm. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

09h00 After breakfast, game drive excursion with lunch on floor of Crater. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 21 Tue 19 Feb
10h00 Breakfast at the Lodge. Transfer to Serengeti mobile tented camp in Ndutu area.
12h00 Arrive at the camp for lunch and afternoon game drive. Dinner & overnight at the camp.
Day 22 Wed 20 Feb
10h00 Breakfast at the lodge. Morning & afternoon game drives in the Serengeti. Lunch, dinner & overnight at the camp.
Day 23 Thu 21 Feb
07h00 Transfer to airstrip for domestic flight to Kilimanjaro airport.
10h00 After immigration and customs formalities we depart for 1-hour flight to Entebbe, Uganda.
12h00 Arrive Entebbe and transfer to Imperial Resort Beach Hotel for lunch.
13h30 Afternoon visit to the island of Ngama and its orphaned chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 24 Fri 22 Feb
08h00 Depart for visit to Jinja, the source of the Nile (two-and-a-half-hour drive from Entebbe).
09h15 Mabira Forest Walk en-route.
13h00 Lunch at Jinja Nile Resort. Dinner and overnight hotel at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel.
Day 25 Sat 23 Feb
08h00 After breakfast transfer to Entebbe Airport for 3 hour flight to Khartoum, Sudan.
12h00 Transfer to Al Salam Rotana Hotel. Afternoon visit to Bait Al-Khalifa Museum. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 26 Sun 24 Feb
09h00 Visit to the Sudanese National Museum of Ethnography and the National Museum of Sudan. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 27 Mon 25 Feb
09h00 Transfer to Khartoum airport for one-and-a-half hour flight to Abu Simbel, Egypt. Enjoy visits to the temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. Return to airport for flight to Aswan. Transfer to Old Cataract Hotel for dinner and overnight. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 28 Tue 26 Feb
09h00 Board Royal Lotus for river adventure. Lunch on board. Afternoon felucca tour round the islands of Aswan, passing by the Botanical Gardens. Afternoon tea and dinner on board in Aswan.
Day 29 Wed 27 Feb
  Breakfast buffet on board. Morning visits to the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, the Unfinished Obelisk at the Ancient Granite Quarries, and the Aswan High Dam. Lunch on board, and sail to Kom Ombo. Afternoon visit to the Temple of Sobek at Kom Ombo. Afternoon tea on board, and sail to Edfu.
“Egyptian Night” dinner on board, including Galabeyya party with a chance for all guests to dress in traditional Egyptian Galabeyyas for the night. Overnight on board in Edfu.
Day 30 Thur 28 Feb
  Breakfast buffet on board. Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Sail to Esna. Lunch on board. Afternoon visit to the Temple of Khnum at Esna. Afternoon tea on board, and sunset sailing to Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 31 Fri 29 Feb
  Breakfast buffet on board. Morning visit to the West Bank of Luxor, including Valley of Kings, Valley of Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and a photostop at Colossi of Memnon. Lunch on board. Afternoon visits to the East Bank of Luxor: Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Afternoon tea on board. Farewell gala dinner on board. Overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 32 Sat 01 Mar
08h00 After disembarkation transfer to Luxor airport for 1 hour flight to Cairo.
10h00 Transfer to Four Seasons First Residence Hotel with views of both the Nile and the Great Pyramids for lunch. Afternoon visit to Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 33 Sun 02 Mar
09h00 Morning tour to Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. Restaurant lunch, afternoon tour of Saqqara and Memphis. Farewell dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 34 Mon 03 Mar
10h00 Depart for home. Own arrangements.

Supplement: US$3,000 per person for upgrade to Royal Suite (train portion)

Tour price includes accommodation, meals, excursions and taxes plus alcoholic beverages only whilst on board the train and ‘plane. Excluded are gratuities, items of
a personal nature and alcoholic beverages off-train.
Visas may be required for South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan and Egypt,
and should be acquired prior to arrival.
Passengers are requested to have yellow fever inoculations, and are advised to take anti-malarial precautions as might be prescribed before commencing the journey.
